Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 25, 2026 · Version 1.0
1. Introduction
LinkVault ("we", "our", or "the app") is a link-saving and organisation application developed by Pascal Ventura ("Developer"). This Privacy Policy explains how LinkVault handles your information when you use the app on iOS, Android, or macOS.
We believe privacy is a right, not a feature. LinkVault is built with a local-first architecture: your data lives on your device by default, and any network communication is strictly opt-in or clearly disclosed below.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
LinkVault does not collect, store, or share:
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or crash telemetry sent to us
- Behavioural data, heatmaps, or session recordings
- Any third-party advertising or tracking SDK data
3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
All links, tags, categories, summaries, and AI-generated metadata are stored exclusively on your device in a local SQLite database. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly trigger AI enrichment (see Section 5) or sync with your personal account (see Section 6).
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the app or using the in-app delete options.
4. Permissions
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Internet | Required for link previews, AI enrichment, and optional sync. |
| Photo Library / Files | Optional. Used when you share an image or file into LinkVault. |
| Storage (Android) | Used to read shared files on older Android versions (API < 33). |
5. AI Enrichment (Optional Feature)
LinkVault offers optional AI-powered enrichment. When enabled, the URL and/or extracted page text is sent over HTTPS to our backend on Google Cloud Run (EU region), which forwards it to OpenRouter for processing.
Data retention: Our backend does not persistently store your link URLs or page content after processing. Request metadata (timing, model used, token counts) may be retained in server logs for up to 7 days. These logs do not contain your link content.
AI enrichment is triggered only when you save or explicitly reprocess a link. You can disable it in Settings at any time.
6. Account and Sync (Optional)
If you sign in with Google or Apple, your library syncs with our cloud backend (Supabase, hosted in the EU). We receive only a session token — not your password. You may delete your account and all associated cloud data by contacting us.
7. No Sale of Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information or link data to any third party, ever.
8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
LinkVault is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us immediately.
9. Security
All network communication uses TLS 1.2 or higher (HTTPS). Our cloud backend enforces row-level security so each account can only access its own data. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but we take commercially reasonable measures to protect your data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and provide in-app notice for significant changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
